WE'RE GROUND(ED)
.

.
ICYMI ~ BUS STOP celebrated 16 years with our biggest collection yet...of course we had a blast shooting our newest collection & even MORE FUN at our Release Party at BUS STOP!
.

.
BUS STOP X Ground is (as always) designed by Elena in Philadelphia, and handmade in limited editions by artisans in collaboration with our favorite brand All Black Footwear.
.

.
GROUND features 19 styles & brand new SANDAL silhouettes inspired by the beauty of Mother Earth and our connection to the mystique & wonder of nature.

We had to share more about the creative process behind the GORGEOUS editorial visuals for BUS STOP X Ground with you and we've been really looking forward to sending all the fun pics of our Release Party your way! So many friends, family, & chosen family in the house. At the party, we showcased the new collection on the selves utilizing elements foraged from our shoot. We showed off the lovely editorial images of the collection modeled by our friend (& Pheed Philly Founder) Sarah Magazzo, beautifully shot by her brother, photographer David Magazzo. We popped bottles of bubbly, slipped on shoes, & gathered to screen our BUS STOP X Ground behind-the-scenes short film captured by Zach Miscavage projected on our brick-and-mortar walls.

GO BEHIND THE SCENES OF BUS STOP X GROUND ~
.
HOW DID WE CAPTURE THE ESSENCE OF BUS STOP X GROUND?
.
When determining how to tell the story of BUS STOP X Ground in our editorial campaign, we thought about what nature's beauty and power means after/while navigating a collectively challenging & complicated moment in time.
.
GROUND is our ode to Mother Nature. We wanted to honor her with an elegant, approachable, intentional editorial shoot that centered and celebrated the nuances of nature and family. We shot at Prallsville Mills in Stockton, NJ. David Magazzo was our photographer and his sister Sarah Magazzo was our model. David's godparents manage the events at Prallsville and were so welcoming & attentive to us.
.
Aubrié wasn't on-site at the shoot but afterwards conducted an interview with Elena & Grace when they returned to discuss all the memorable details & process of completing the editorial campaign:
.
Who was there?
.
Elena: David, Pauline, Zach, Grace, Jessie & myself.
What was everyone’s role for the day? Dave-photographer Pauline-assisted with photo & styling on set, Zach-video Grace-wardrobe + stylist & Jessie-assistant stylist.
.
What was the vibe/tone of the day? Weather?
.
Elena: Weather was gorgeous, partly sunny with blue skies. David had a playlist which just happened to be the music I love with some of my fave artists & songs.
.
Grace: Ease + chill // Weather was such a blessing. Grass was just dry enough to shoot on. Sky clear + just warm enough.
.
How long was the shoot? What was the work flow like?
.
Elena: We hustled to shoot 19 shoes, the flow was seamless but tiring as it was a lot to squeeze into six hours.
.
Grace: Full full day // Amazing flow considering most of us had never seen the site and the number of us working together.
.
What is Sarah wearing?
.
Elena: A mix of Grace’s designs & wardrobe, my wardrobe, clothes from KIN: green sequin dress, 2-piece peach ombré long set.
.
Grace: Here's the full breakdown~
BCBG white blazer // 1970’s wide leg palazzo pants // scarf // Calvin Klein 205 west 39 NYC runway sample red cape rain coat // Raf Simons days + white American Apparel jumpsuit Modern Misfits X shao-xi blue // mesh top with sport neck trim + gold lame skirt with Norma Kamali light grey sweatpants // KIN Boutique Karli top + skirt + Elena's leather jacket, Sister Jane Dream sequin midi green dress // The Fifth Label supernatural long sleeve top paired with AUBREY suit jacket styled with knee high sock MALIN shimmery Light Blue socks + vintage neon green slip // Styled by fabulous JESSIE // ELLE TOBIN hand dyed sweatshirt tied as tube top + pink silk trench + Elena's denim // White t-shirt // denim on denim // Elena's flora vintage dress over White Christopher Kane tape dress [love this edit by David’s girlfriend Pauline].
.
What was your favorite Look?
.
Elena: The green sequin dress.
.
Grace: I loved KIN Boutique Karli top + skirt // THE FADE was just perfect. In the outfitting process I was searching for something that would visually represent + align with Elena’s collection, Aubrie’s vision + the location // but also standout. I was so excited to find it in the mad search // + that we were able to borrow it!!! I also enjoyed the BCBG white blazer [my interview blazer 😳 from 2014 ] // 1970’s wide leg palazzo pants // scarf inspired by Aubrie's inspiration added on by Jessie. After feeling the chaos of model change + last minute pulls, the outfit set a calm overtone for me. Also I enjoyed seeing Sarah in it // felt that this one was for our core customer base + over all this outfit was full of collaborative elements.
.
How did you determine which shoes were shot in which location?
.
Elena: As soon as we got there, Dave (David’s godfather) gave us a tour of the properties & I decided where to shoot. The historic Mill was so beautiful, parts very rustic (which I love) that I had a hard time deciding but soon everything fell into place. We based each photo on the natural light streaming through the windows or doors, wardrobe & ambiance of the rooms of The Mill.
.
Grace: Felt thankful for time in between Mill + house, there was a breather. With the help of the amazing Jessie we were able to re-set up + test outfits on Sarah + walk the outfits [clothing + shoes] around the house to pick the best “color” balance. So helpful that David was easy going and shifted with us. I really felt he set the ease— full tone for the day.
.
What was your favorite location at Prallsville Mills?
.
Elena: That’s a hard question as I loved each room of The Mill, as well as the house across the street which housed the bridal suite. My absolute fave was the basement of The Mill with the wheels & running water, so rustic with exposed brick where we took the last series of photographs of me in my cowboy hat, in all my glory with all the shoes surrounding me.
.
Grace: I love love all the vintage velvet couches especially, upstairs in the Mill where Elena + Zac “remodeled” the color balance was amazing.
.
Anything else I should know?
.
Elena: After a long jam-packed fulfilling exhausting day, we ended up at The Sergeantsville Inn for a delicious dinner & drinks on me, as a thank you to the team. Sadly David & Pauline couldn’t make it as they had to get back.
.
Grace: Really enjoyed this shoot with Elena + the collection. Felt celebratory!!! So thankful to be part of creating something together.
