Elena Brennan, Shoe Designer & Founder of BUS STOP completes the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program

PHILADELPHIA, April 19, 2019 — Elena Brennan owner of BUS STOP, a boutique shoe store in Philadelphia was among the 21 graduates of Cohort 18 who recently completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program in Philadelphia.

“As a female entrepreneur who has been in business for 12 years, 10,000 Small Businesses has changed the way I think about being a shoe designer & business owner. Throughout the program I learned skills that I put into practice immediately. I was ready as soon as I graduated to explore my Growth Opportunity of opening a 2nd location in LA with the goal to have a bi-coastal presence within a year of graduating. My limited-edition sustainable shoe brand BUS STOP X will be sold in LA, as well as the flagship in Philly, rolling out to 5 U.S. cities in the next 5 years. These key cities will build brand-awareness as well as exponentially increase my online sales.” Elena Brennan.

“My fellow cohorts (classmates) and I (all business entrepreneurs) spent 14 weeks – roughly 200 hours both outside and in the classroom at the Community College of Philadelphia studying a strategic business and management curriculum designed by Babson College and delivered by Community College of Philadelphia faculty. The curriculum covered accounting, human resources, negotiation and marketing, among other topics. The program also included one-on-one business advising, accounting workshops and advice from Goldman Sachs professionals. I like to describe it as a mini MBA bootcamp! The bond between my fellow peers was invaluable, relationships that will keep on building. It’s important to know that you can lean on any of your peers for business advice, even after the program is over.” Elena Brennan

In order to qualify there a certain criteria that have to be met and the pre-screened selected applicants gain access to a world-class business education and connections to a professional support network at no cost.
